I think this is one of the purest, most honest, most touching, most emotional, most real performances I’ve ever seen ....

She took on a huge song at such an incredibly emotional time in her life. I am a vocalist and know exactly what she's feeling as she sings this. It isn't her best performance by any stretch. It's full of strain and is pitchy and the lyrics are messed up everywhere. I've been there. It's like lifting weights to pull off a song like this under such strain. But having sung at my fathers funeral a few years ago, the amount of focus and determination while the muscles in your instrument are weeping and don't want to get up, is beyond what the average person could ever possibly comprehend. The outside might looked composed and ready to put on a show, but the inside is in the fetal position and just wants to pull the blankets over its head and cry. What a tremendous loss she endured in front of the world. Bless her for jumping back on the horse.
